If you're anxiously awaiting the Samsung Galaxy S2 release date here in the United States, it looks like your wait is nearly over.
Yonhap news is now reporting that Samsung's president of the mobile business and digital imaging department, Shin Jong-kyun, commented that "We expect to release the Galaxy S2 in the U.S. market sometime in August."
To this point, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has been wildly popular internationally with global sales of nearly 3 million units within 55 days of its original release date (April 28, 2011) in South Korea.
It has a 4.3" Super Amoled Plus screen to provide for better readability from different viewing angles. As an added benefit, the new Super Amoled Plus touchscreen technology also provides for better battery consumption. Full 1080p video recording and playback is supported. And, as would be expected with today's most advanced smartphones, the Galaxy SII comes with an auto focusing 8MP Camera with built-in LED flash support and a 2MP front-facing camera.
