The Motorola Targa - Upcoming Verizon Android Phone for 2011

What's being referred to as the Motorola Targa looks to be in the Motorola Droid X family.  The leaked Motorola Targa picture clearly indicates that it will be released on the Verizon wireless network and we're guessing we're not going out on a limb to suggest that it will exchange the Motorola Targa codename for the Motorola Droid X3.  If not, it's clearly going to be a Motorola Droid X something as the form factor appears to be nearly identical to the original Motorola Droid X!

If you take a close look at the picture, it looks like it will launch with the ability to run off of the new Verizon 4G LTE network and has been adorned with a splash of chrome to spruce it up!  We're also guessing (hoping!) that it will be powered by a dual core processor, running Google's Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system, and sporting a QHC LCD display with 960 x 540 screen resolution.  Front and rear facing cameras are a given and HDMI video output is probable.

At this point, the Motorola Targa rumors are just that, rumors!  There's definitely nothing solid to go off of at this point other than that we've got a new Motorola Droid something lurking in the wings that will assuredly be one of the top upcoming Verizon Android phones for 2011.

We'll keep our fingers crossed for more leaked Motorola Targa pics, a better feel for specs, and hopefully a Motorola Targa release date or, more than likely, a Motorola Droid X3 release date as the details firm up on this upcoming Verizon Android phone.

Until then, speculate even more in the comments!
