As you can see from the leaked photo above, Pocketnow has scooped pictures of what looks to be the soon to be announced / released HTC Incredible 2 on Verizon. Rumor has it that the HTC Incredible 2 will simply be the Verizon branded smartphone version of the Europe / Asia HTC Incredible S announced earlier this year in Barcelona at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) trade show.
The leaked HTC Incredible 2 photos are clearly branded as a Verizon wireless offering and the Droid eye centered on the touch screen is a dead giveaway that it will be joining the popular Android powered Verizon Droid line of smartphones. If the naming convention follows suit, the new Verizon Droid Incredible will most likely be named the Droid Incredible 2.
In regards to specs, rumors have it that the new Verizon HTC Incredible 2 will sport a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 4" WVGA touch screen display with 800 x 480 resolution, 768MB of RAM, a back facing 8 Megapixel camera with dual LED flash (potentially dual-Xenon flash), a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera with webcam capabilities, powered by Google's Android OS, and supported by a 1450mAh battery.
Other HTC Incredible 2 rumors indicate that it will come with dual microphones to provide for noise cancellation and it will feature wireless charging. Unfortunately, even though it appears that it will have global roaming capabilities, it doesn't look like it will run off of the new Verizon 4G LTE network.
If you're looking to make this your new 2011 smartphone, it does appear, according to the leaked Verizon smartphone roadmap (courtesy of Phandroid), that the new Verizon Droid Incredible 2 release date will be at the end of April. If the leaked Verizon roadmap is correct, the HTC Incredible 2 release date will specifically be on April 28, 2011.
